Scheduling an Examination

To achieve the highest degree of success in your testing program, you will want to choose the most favorable time and one that would be most advantageous to your students preparing for graduation.

Ideally a test should be scheduled for each class as they complete the final phase of their in-house portion and just prior to going on externship. A test may be scheduled at any time, the choice is yours to make. You simply need to decide what time and date you wish to test and notify the Test Coordinator of NAHP of your decision by calling.

Examination Application Procedures

The school is expected to post notification 6 weeks prior to the examination date.

The proctor or ‘contact person’ should collect all applications and verify that appropriate test fees are attached.

It is not necessary to send a transcript if the course is not yet completed.

If the course has been completed or the applicant is a past graduate, you should enclose final grade transcript, or a copy of diploma or letter of recommendation.

If for any reason that the school officials do not believe that an applicant will graduate, the applicant should not be tested.

Individuals that fail their test and desire to re-test must notify the school for rescheduling.

The school is encouraged to select a proctor having the credentials of one or more of the following: NRCMA, RMA, CMA, LVN, MLT, RDA, LPN, NRCAHA, RN, CA, NRCPT, or NRCEKG.

All completed applications should be sent to NAHP 2 weeks prior to the scheduled examination date.

Test materials and proctor guidelines will be sent to the school with a roster of the applicants, 1 week prior to the examination date.

Procedures Following the Examination

Following the completion of the examination the testing materials are returned to NAHP for processing. This should be done so that the materials are received within 10 business days after the test date.

The tests are then reviewed and scores are calculated. The school officials are notified of the examination results.

The student is notified if they fail the exam. However, test results are sent directly to the school, to be distributed to the students. Certification for passing students will be held until all required paperwork is received. Once the NAHP has received a copy of the applicant’s diploma, or transcripts, or letter of recommendation processing will be up to 6 weeks.
