Continuing education for health professionals is essential for maintaining competence, self-confidence, career continuity, and the knowledge base for promotions. Continuing Education can be defined as any educational program designed to maintain the level of competence, knowledge, and skill necessary to perform the duties that are demanded in the update of medicine.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are earned through response to the CEU Update publication and by submitting a copy of a current CPR card. No online courses will be accepted for CEU credits.

Class A Credits

Class “A” CEUs are units that are earned through the reading material that is provided through the NAHP’s publication of the CEU Update. The multiple issue publication is available at the link above or can be obtained by mail (a fee must be paid to have CEU's mailed). Approximately one year after your initial registration, this issue will begin. The questionnaire that accompanies the CEU issue must be completed and returned for class “A” credit. Each completed CEU questionnaire will earn credits; you will not receive a grade on each questionnaire submitted. When returning your Class “A” newsletter for credit be sure you fill out the information completely. If it is received without a name and/or social security number, it will be discarded. A processor will not take the time to investigate a possible owner of such material. Your file will be reviewed annually only. You will be notified every year in your renewal letter as to the number of credits that have been earned.
